Celebrating Annie

I'm back! What was supposed to be a simple holiday hiatus turned into a very distracted, project-filled baby brain. Thanks to some gentle prodding from a faraway friend, I have reemerged and refocused just in time to celebrate my dear friend Annie's birthday.

Over the past 3 years, my husband and I have had a lot of change in our lives. We have moved twice, started new jobs, dealt with job transfers, and are now expecting our first baby. At the beginning of this chaos, I met Annie. She was the sweet stranger that gave me the contact for a potential job and invited me to dinner in her home and to celebrate her 24th birthday. Anyone that has ever moved to a new town understands the importance of this first brave soul who is willing to open their life to you (without first finding out much about your sanity or weird habits).

Over the months, and now years, I have come to appreciate this friendship more and more. Annie is a talented woman who not only inspires those around her, but is continually searching for ways to better herself. She finds wonderful ways to celebrate this beautiful life with creative parties and table settings that could rival Martha Stewart.

I could go on about the numerous qualities that make Annie great. However, I feel it might be just as appropriate to say that I consider myself very lucky to call her my friend.

Here's to you Annie, on your 26th birthday! I hope you have found a wonderful way to celebrate this new year.
